The biggest challenge we have today is to save planet earth by providing environment friendly solutions in conserving natural resources and reducing green house gas emissions. As global commitment, we also align with our corporate environmental policy, the umbrella in business processes to ensure continued focus and systematic performance improvement.

Holcim (Singapore) strives for environmental excellence throughout the value chain by focusing in the following 3 areas:

Emission reduction
We reduce our pollution emission during production and delivery, not only to protect the environment but also to maintain our product quality.

Dry batching plants are phased out to reduce dust pollution during concrete production. Batching software were upgraded to better control the quantity and quality of the output and to be integrated with operational and financial reporting. We save cost on fuel consumption by employing Euro III/IV in our mixer truck fleet.

Resource recovery
Resources are managed carefully in our business & operational processes from extracting raw materials to manufacturing production to ensure quality product. We focus on the availability and quality of the raw material by investing on recycled material facility. This initiative of resource recovery actually gives us a drive to customer-oriented product innovation and business process efficiency.

Improve environmental framework and compliance
We are committed to working within the prevailing regulatory framework, and working in synergy with governmental agents to excel environmental performance.

We were recertified in 2008 for the three standards ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999.
